Nothing can ruin a first impression like saying “Hhhhhhello” and omitting a Hhhhalitosis breath along with your friendly greeting. Your attempt at a good impression just took a sour turn south. Halitosis it really just a fancy word for bad breath. Wondering if you have bad breath? It’s easy to determine. Say that “Hhhhhello” again. However, when you say it this time, cup your hands over your mouth and nose and let your breath waft into your nostrils. You be the judge of whether you have halitosis or not.

There are several things that could be leading to your bad breath. If you’re in the habit of smoking or drinking it could be causing it. Gum disease and dry mouth lead to halitosis. Of course, poor oral hygiene can lead you to your foul breath. Certain foods such as garlic and onions tend to leave a temporary bad smell to your breath.

If you’ve been using regular toothpaste and mouthwash and you still can’t seem to kick the bad breath out the door, consider using a natural method.

You can mix 1-2 drops of peppermint, patchouli, or lavender essential oil with ½ tsp. of baking soda to form a paste. Use the created paste just as you would regular toothpaste.
